How NFL Heatmap works
Call an NFL player
A valid player claims the selected hex and every matching neighbor. A wrong name costs no points or moves.
Extend the drive
Combo scoring accelerates from x1 = 1 to x5 = 15. Matching a claimed neighbor reheats it for one extra point.
Find the open lane
Look for a team hex beside its conference or division, then check the surrounding position, age and jersey-number clues. A player who fits several neighbors can turn one answer into a long drive.
Team and player traits come from Wordle Cup’s frozen 384-player NFL pool: 12 selections from every team, split evenly between offense and defense. It is a curated puzzle pool rather than a claim to include every rostered player, and the frozen snapshot keeps each daily board stable.

How do I play NFL Heatmap?
Choose an unclaimed hex, then search for an NFL player who matches its clue. The same answer also claims every matching adjacent hex, creating a combo.
Does NFL Heatmap include every NFL player?
No. The game uses Wordle Cup’s curated 384-player pool, with 12 post-cutdown Active selections from each team and an even offense-defense split. The data-scope panel shows the exact pool size and snapshot date instead of implying full league coverage.
Can I reuse the same NFL player?
Yes. Players may be reused, and an incorrect answer does not consume a move or reduce your score.
How does NFL Heatmap scoring work?
Claiming N new cells scores N × (N + 1) ÷ 2 points. That makes an x1 worth 1, x2 worth 3, x3 worth 6, x4 worth 10 and x5 worth 15. Each reheated neighbor adds one point.
