Connect an NBA player
A valid active player claims the selected hex and every matching neighbor. A miss costs no points or moves.
Run up the heat
Combo scoring accelerates from x1 = 1 to x5 = 15. Matching a claimed neighbor reheats it for one extra point.
Read the floor before you answer
Start with a team hex beside a broader clue such as a conference, position or experience band. One correct roster match can turn a single cell into a three- or four-hex combo.
Team cells use the player’s team in the 2025–26 active-player snapshot. Positions, age, height, experience, nationality and jersey number are checked against that same frozen snapshot, so every daily board stays consistent.

How do I play NBA Heatmap?
Choose an unclaimed hex, then search for an active NBA player who matches its clue. The same answer also claims every matching adjacent hex, creating a combo.
Do a player’s former NBA teams count?
No. Team, conference and division clues use the player’s team in the frozen 2025–26 active-player snapshot. The page labels that scope so a board does not change midway through its daily cycle.
Can I reuse the same NBA player?
Yes. Players may be reused, and an incorrect answer does not consume a move or reduce your score.
How does NBA Heatmap scoring work?
Claiming N new cells scores N × (N + 1) ÷ 2 points. That makes an x1 worth 1, x2 worth 3, x3 worth 6, x4 worth 10 and x5 worth 15. Each reheated neighbor adds one point.
